Q: How long can one gallon of fog juice last? How much fog does one minute produce?
A: From our testing on 400W fog machine, the average fog liquid consumption is 4.425ml per min, so 1 gallon(3785ml) can last 855 minutes in theory. And it produces 2000cfm(cubic ft. of fog per min)
As to 700W fog machine, the average fog liquid consumption is 4.8ml per min, so 1 gallon(3785ml) can last 780 minutes in theory.
And it produces 2200cfm(cubic ft. of fog per min)
AS to 1000W fog machine, the average fog liquid consumption is 9.65ml per min, so 1 gallon(3785ml) can last 392 minutes in theory. And it produces 3000cfm(cubic ft. of fog per min)
AS to 1200W fog machine, the average fog liquid consumption is 11.6ml per min, so 1 gallon(3785ml) can last 326 minutes in theory.
And it produces 3500cfm(cubic ft. of fog per min)
AS to 1500W fog machine, the average fog liquid consumption is 18.95ml per min, so 1 gallon(3785ml) can last 146 minutes in theory. And it produces 4000cfm(cubic ft. of fog per min).
For QL-01(400W), with 300ml tank volume, it takes 67 minutes to run out a full tank.
For QL-03(400W), with 550ml tank volume, it takes 124 minutes to run out a full tank.
For QL-04(400W), with 1300ml tank volume, it takes 293 minutes to run out a full tank.
For QL-05(400W), with 900ml tank volume, it takes 203 minutes to run out a full tank.
For QL-06(1000W), with 1300ml tank volume, it takes 135 minutes to run out a full tank.
For QL-07(700W), with 900ml tank volume, it takes 187.5 minutes to run out a full tank.
For QL-08(1200W), with 1300ml tank volume, it takes 112 minutes to run out a full tank.
For QL-09(1500W), with 1300ml tank volume, it takes 68 minutes to run out a full tank.
For QL-11(400W), with 900ml tank volume, it takes 203 minutes to run out a full tank.
For QL-12(700W), with 900ml tank volume, it takes 187.5 minutes to run out a full tank.
For QL-13(1000W), with 2000ml tank volume, it takes 207 minutes to run out a full tank.
For QL-14(1200W), with 2000ml tank volume, it takes 172 minutes to run out a full tank.
For QL-15(1500W), with 2000ml tank volume, it takes 105 minutes to run out a full tank.
Q: How do I know the fog liquid run out?
A: The fog spraying runs weaker and smaller, and then stop spraying.
And for QL-11, QL-12, QL-13, QL-14, QL-15, they have no-liquid alarm function and make warning sound.
Alarm protection: A lasting buzzer is sounded when fog liquid runs out(10s later). Only when fog liquid is injected and power reset, can the fog machine return to work normally. If there is no liquid injected but only power reset, it will re-detect and alarm again(10s later). After 6 times of this operation, only lasting buzzer is sounded untill power off.
Q: Does the machine require a specific liquid to function or will plain water do?
A: It requires so-called fog liquid/fluid which is more than just water. It's a mix of water and glycerine. Other liquid or plain water is not allowed to use in the fog machine.
Q: Is the artificial fog safe to breathe?
A: Most fog machines use fog liquid made of a combination of water and a chemical called glycol which has been found to be safe and is not considered hazardous to humans. However, some poeple do complain of respiratory problem and throat irritation when exposed to theatrical fog since the fog can be irritating or drying, so please do not expose the fog at close range to known asthmatics or allergenic sensitive people. If the fog machine is used indoors you should make sure the room has enough ventilation. Also, if you spray a lot of fog in a small room, you may see a very thin film of residue on everything in the room. It may feel alightly sticky, but it is not harmful. Be sure to protect any sensitive surfaces accordingly.
Q: Is fog blowing directly onto food or pets harmful?
A: It is not recommended that the fog from the fog machine be blown directly onto food or pets. The fog spraymay leave a light residue on surfaces, similar to a hot shower on a mirror. Again, use in well-ventilated areas.
Q: Should I shut off smoke detectors or sprinkler systems if I use the fog machine inside?
A: Yes, it is possible that the water-based particals could trigger the smoke detectors. However, as to sprinkler systems, are usually triggered by heat, so the fog in tyhe air will not activate heat-activiated sprinkler systems. And when using this fog machine indoors, we recommend that the room has adequate ventilation.
Q: Does it run quietly?
A: All fog machines make some sort of noise with the pump, but the fog machines made in Quhwa are among the quietest in the market.
Q: I am hoping to link two smoke machines together to go off at the same time for live performances. Is this an option on this?
A: No, can not link two or more fog machines. But two or more fog machines can spray fog simultaneously when they finish the heating-up and the user switch on their controller buttons at same time.
Q: Is there a spot on the back of the machine to plug in a remote timer? I already own a plug in timer.
A: Yes, there is a commonly used spot at the back side. All the fog machines made in Quhwa can be connected with timer or wired controller.
Q: Will this work outside? Or will it be too diluted? I was wondering about putting it on my front porch for halloween to make it look a little more creepy for trick or treaters.
A: The fog machines are not water-proof or work at super low temperature(e.g. minus 0℃ or 30℉), so please take care of the weather conditions if you want to use it outside. The outside is not good for gathering fog, but the spray distance within 2-5m(6-16ft) has enough fog before disappearing.
Q: What is the input voltage?
A: The input voltage should be pre-made based on your country. It can be 110V-120V in US, Canada and etc, also be available 220-240V in Europe, Australia and etc.
Q: Will this do low lying fog?
A: Only QL-04 made by Quhwa has the function of lying fog.
Q: Can this be controlled from a DMX board?
A: This machine will not run on DMX.
